The first question that comes to mind is "what is this Quip application?" The quick answer is that it is a collaborative productivity suite meant to be used by teams that want to get things done as fast as possible. You can use Quip to chat with all the people on your team, either privately or as a group. And you can use Quip to work with your team on documents, spreadsheets, or lists.

Quip is available for desktop as well as mobile. It is available as a desktop application for Windows or Mac and as a mobile app for iOS or Android. The list of features that Quip has to offer is quite long: chat with team members, either one-on-on or in a group chat; share documents so you don’t have to email them back and forth; work together on documents, spreadsheets or lists and see everyone's updates in real-time, as they happen; assign tasks to certain team members; set permissions at group, document, and folder levels; import or export documents; and more.
